SU-25 V1.0.0.0 LS25

The Sukhoi Su-25 “Grach” (Russian: Су-25 NATO designation: Frogfoot[2]) is a single-seat, twin-engine aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. It has ground attack, close air support and anti-tank characteristics and was created to provide support to the Soviet Ground Forces. His nickname in the Russian Air Force and Russian Ground Forces is “Grach” (“rook”).

During its more than forty years in service, the Su-25 has been in combat with numerous air forces. He was actively involved in the Soviet war in Afghanistan, flying counterinsurgency missions against the mujahideen. The Iraqi Air Force used it against Iran during the 1980-1989 Iran-Iraq War. Most of them were later destroyed or sent to Iran during the 1991 Gulf War. In 1993, Abkhazian separatists used the Su-25 against Georgians during the Abkhaz War.[3] Eight years later, the Air Force of the Republic of Macedonia (now North Macedonia) employed the Su-25 against Albanian insurrectionists in the 2001 Macedonian conflict, and in 2008, Georgia and Russia reportedly used Su-25 aircraft during the South Ossetia war.[4] Several African states, such as Ivory Coast, Chad and Sudan, have used the Su-25 against local insurgent groups and civil wars. Recently, the Su-25 has seen service in the Russian intervention in the Syrian civil war, the second Nagorno-Karabakh war, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[5]
